‘Go out in the woods, go out. If you don’t go out in the woods nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin’

Clarissa Pinkola Estes

We are a collective of female holistic artists bringing you experiential journeys that follow the rhythmic nature of our existence in connection with the seasons and cycles of the Earth.

The aim of our arrow is taut and strong.

We wish to bring you a container in which to explore, to re-wild yourself, to regain your sovereignty and reconnect with the heart of life in its full raw form for the healing of self, humanity and the earth.

Having followed our 3 individual and unique paths of reclamation of self for up to 25 years, we (Jade, Hannah and Laura) agreed at Samhain 2019 to meet at each turn of the wheel of the year to share the wisdom, therapeutic practice and inspiration we had gathered.

We began to weave our individual practices together finding magic and deep sustained transformation in the process of digging deep into our subconscious through co-creation with nature, stories, & metaphor, and then reaching high with journeying, song, embodied movement and ritual.

The programme itself has progressed & unfolded, and become the answer to our own yearnings, that is perhaps the yearnings of many.

We are now committed to helping women’s mental, physical and spiritual health at every stage of their lives.

Unlike conventional 1-2-1 talk therapies we work holistically addressing the body, mind and spirit. We draw on community & group dynamics emulating the micro family unity within the village, answering the aching to be seen and the transformational experience of being witnessed. We press upon time honoured traditions of celebrating and giving gravitas to the stages of life, growth and wisdom developing a sense of belonging for each of us in today’s isolated culture.

Our aim is ultimately to set ourselves free, from that which holds us back, and re-route ourselves to create a culture that is healthier than the one we currently reside in.

'My contention is that the very nature of the system in which people live their lives is a significant source of illness. ' Gabor Mate

It takes conscious action to be healthy and strong amidst these times, and it takes a rewriting of our habits/ belief systems to reclaim the lost and essential practices that nurture healthy humans.

Laura.

Laura has been a registered Art Psychotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) since completing her MA at Goldsmiths University in 2007.

In co-founding The Heroines Path 6 years ago, she found herself taking her practice increasingly outside.

This path led her to make a life changing move to South Devon, concentrating on her art work and continuing to focus on following the practices of Environmental Arts Therapy.

She has been honoured to be able to learn directly from the pioneers of this movement Ian and Marianne Siddons-Heginworth since moving and was a part of their first Circle of Trees group. She is now an Environmental Arts Therapist running her own Circle of Trees group in South Devon, with their blessing.

Her artwork is based on her intuition in conveying natures messages, working in oil and cold wax her landscapes are textural and emotive marking the changes in seasons and its cycles.
